2008 Spring Fashion Show a Hit
Edgemont Village Served Up Spring Fashion April 16th and, once again, did so with great style and flair. Canyon House and The Marquee Garden Tent were virtually transformed by the gifted Marlene Tate of Trims with her theme of “Nature under Glass”. The sold-out rooms were treated to two hours of dazzling fashions on our local models (Village women and men, all). Simultaneously, monies were being raised for Sage House with raffle ticket sales. At the end of the day, we had another $6,000 for the Women & Children’s shelter. Well done, everyone! This brings our total, to date, to $35,000! We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our fashion contributors: Twiga, Motion Wear, Zig Zag, Current, Fun in The Sun & Highland Optical, as well as to Hairworks in the Village, Runaway bay, Deborah’s Place and Headquarters for the models’ fabulous hair & makeup. Of course, the event wouldn’t have been quite as much fun without the wonderful prizes donated by all our generous merchants. A big thank you to all for making this annual event such a success!

Seasonal Events
Harvest Festival This free, village-wide street fair sees the community packed with 5000 attendees who come to enjoy a variety of family-friendly, all-day events. From bands on the main stage, to Irish dancers, a ventriloquist, or The Extreme bike show with Dangerous Dan — there’s something for everyone.
Christmas in The Village Come December, Edgemont Village transforms into a winter wonderland. Each Christmas, we decorate our distinctive, red lamp standards to resemble giant candy canes and light the trees on the street corners and boulevards. Carolers line the streets, Santa makes an annual stop for a day of photos with kids (and pets!) and community contests add to the buzz.
Evenings in Edgemont As surely as summer arrives, so does live music come to Edgemont Village on Friday nights throughout July and August. This joint initiative with the Parks and Recreation Commission has been a resounding success from its first note 9 summers ago. Here, in our extremely beautiful natural setting, we are able to present the sounds of 8 diverse, professional bands for families to enjoy while spending time with their friends and neighbours right in the heart of the village. Attendance at these evenings has grown to average 1200 to 1500 or more; the series finale in August, at which we share the evening with Public Dreams Society and the Wild Lights festival, has attracted attendees of up to 5000.
